. Abstract Lupus nephritis is an autoimmune condition caused as a complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Circulating antigen –antibody complexes get deposited in kidneys which causes inflammatory reaction and affects functions of kidney. It can cause hematuria, proteinuria, swelling, raised level of creatinine and urea in blood. Modern treatment for lupus nephritis includes immunosuppression. In this case study, a 38 years old female patient had complaints like rauksha(dryness), swedabhav (absence of sweating), agnimandya (loss of apetite), akshikutshotha (peri-orbital edema), krushnapandutva(blackish discoloration), malavashtambha (constipation), shrama(tiredness), alpamutrata (decreaed urine output), ubhaya padshotha(pedal edema), udarvruddhi(ascites) etc. By dashavidha pariksha, patient was diagnosed as vatapradhan pandu. Treatment of pandu vyadhi was given to the patient and good results were observed. This article concludes that, by doing classical vyadhinidana (diagnosis) and chikitsa (treatment), we can manage autoimmune conditions like lupus nephritis. Keywords: Lupus nephritis, SLE, Pandu.
