ROLE OF VASADI KSHAYAM IN THE MANAGEMENT OF VATARAKTA W.S.R. TO HYPERURICEMIA – A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Rising trend of dining out, ordering take aways and home deliveries; and sedentary lifestyle has led to agnimandya in people, making them more susceptible to metabolic disorders. Incidence of Vatarakta, a mithyaaharaviharajanya vyadhi, characterized by simultaneous vitiation of vata and rakta, mentioned in the various ayurved texts are on a rise. This calls for a study of efficacy of Ayurvedic drugs and therapies mentioned in the various texts. Vasadi Kshayam has been mentioned in Yogratnakar. As Vatarakta has been correlated to Gout in modern disease, its treatment is based on reducing S. uric acid levels of the patient. In this study, role of Vasadi Kshayam has been assessed in the management of various symptoms of Vatarakta and its affect on S. uric acid levels in the body.
