ROLE OF AYURVEDA IN PUBLIC HEALTH

. Abstract Ayurveda is an ancient science of life that emphasizes on maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of diseases through various dietary and lifestyle regimens and treatment of diseases through various therapeutic measures. The term public health has two meanings Health status of the public (i.e., a defined population) and organized social efforts to preserve and improve the health of a defined population. It is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health and efficiency through organized community efforts. Ayurveda is useful in maintaining the health of a healthy person. Ayurveda is not only a medical science but also tells about the ways of living life. In Ayurveda, the most emphasis is given on avoiding diseases; it is given on living a healthy life. In today's era, it has become more important to use the rules of Ayurveda because a person does not pay attention to his health, due to which the person has to face many health-related problems.
