ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO KLAIBYA: A META-ANALYSIS

. Abstract Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the consistent or recurrent inability of a man to attain and /or maintain a penile erection sufficient for sexual activity. It has been estimated that the worldwide prevalence of ED will be 322 million cases by the year 2025. Risk factor categories associated with ED include general health status of the individual, the presence of diabetes mellitus, and of cardiovascular disease (CVD), Concurrence of other genitourinary disease, psychiatric/psychological disorders, and sociodemographic conditions. In Ayurveda, ED can be compared with the Klaibya. In this article meta-analytical study of erectile dysfunction and its correlation with Klaibya was done. Classical textbooks and published research studies were searched in the context of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Online search engines namely J gate, Google scholar, PubMed, DHARA online and AYUSH research portal were used for data mining of published research works. References and studies including klaibya were reviewed. We include randomized controlled trials suggesting the treatment of klaibya. From this review article it can be concluded that causative factors of Klaibya is the hectic and stressful life schedule of present times. Before to start any type of treatment the best approach is to counseling the couples rather than drug therapy. Sex education and reassurance may also be beneficial in the patient of Klaibya.
