A CASE STUDY- AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF HYPERTHYROIDISM

. Abstract Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health designed to help people live long, healthy, balance lives. Hyperthyroidism is one of the most common endocrine disorders. Ayurvedic classics have no direct reference of Hyperthyroidism. It can be compared with Atyagni or Tikshnagni or Bhasmaka Roga. Hyperthyroidism is more common in women than men(5:1 ratio). The overall prevalence of hyperthyroidism, which is 1.3 percent in older women. Hyperthyroidism has been managed optimally with modern drugs since long but it may produce various untoward effects on long usage. Present case is one of my successful cases of hyperthyroidism. 48 year’s female suffering from weight loss, insomnia, palpitation, fatigue, weakness, Anger, since last 4 years, and from last 8 month all symptoms increase rapidly. After 6 month Ayurvedic treatment patient got relief in most of symptoms of disease and TSH level increase from 0.02 ulU/ml to 3.14 ulUml. Keywords: Hyperthyroidism, Atyagni, Tiksnagni, Bhasmaka rog.
