A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW ON TASTE MASKING

. Abstract Tastes masking becomes necessary condition for bitter drug to improve the patients abidance epically in the pediatric and geriatric population. Goodness of any drug dosage is depends over its taste. Several oral pharmaceuticals and bulking agents have unpleasant bitter taste. Palatability is recognized as being a critical factor in patient compliance, particularly few children in whom the acceptability of medicament and hence it is ease of administration can be greatly affected by taste. Undesired taste of many drugs can be eliminated by this taste masking process As it include adding sugars, flavors, sweetener, use of amino acids, coating drugs, multiple emulsion, viscosity, modifiers, solid dispersions vesicles and liposome, salt formation, formation of inclusion and molecular complexes. The projective of this review was to explore different methods, techniques and technologies and assessment to mask the unpleasant taste of drugs, so that patients can use this drug without delay of taste.
