A REVIEW ON THE CONCEPT OF VISHAGHNA DRAVYA IN AYURVEDA

. Abstract Poisons (Visha), which might have plant, animal, or mineral origins, can adversely affect the body. The Ayurvedic branch that addresses toxicological issues is called Agada Tantra. The effects of the visha must be stopped by antidotes and antitoxin medications. In Ayurveda texts and textbooks, medications are referred to as Vishaghna (antipoisonous/ anti-toxic). in modern science various treatment for poisoning but these have some side effect in ayurveda some drugs are mentioned, having anti toxic properties without any side effect. Vishaghna dravyas mention in ayurveda are Vishaghna gana in Charak Samhita, Aragvadhadi gana, patoladi gana, Anjanadi gana, Trapuadi gana, etc. in Sushruta Samhita, Astanga hridyum also contains similar groups. There is an abundance of poison in the environment in various forms, manifested as pollution, epidemics, etc. There are huge resources of anti-toxic drugs naturally occurring that can be utilized to address the biggest issues of the planet today.
