REVIEW ON DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINED RELEASE CAPSULES INCORPORATING MATRIX GRANULES OF GLIMEPIRIDE

Abstract

Glimepiride is an orally available medium to long acting Sulphonylurea antidiabetic drug. Glimepiride is very potent and has longer duration of action. The objective of this review article is to prepare sustained release capsules containing coated matrix granules of Glimpiride. The aim of formulating Glimepiride as a capsule, is to provide better absorption, Thereby increasing the Bioavailability and to mask the unpleasant taste and odour.
