CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF GARAVISHA WITH SPECIARENCE TO ADVERSE EFFECT OF CARBOPLATIN – A REVIEW

. Abstract Cisplatin has been cited as being among the most used cytotoxic anticancer medication due to its broader efficacy in the treatment various type of cancer. Cisplatin treatment has been linked to various toxic side effect including loss of hairs, nausea, discoloration of skin, bleeding, anaemia, swelling over hand & foot, fever, loss of appetite, weakness in the arms, legs, bloating etc. Chemotherapy drug are like a poison and they fall in the category of artificial poison. In ayurveda when we see symptoms of Gara-visha are resemble toxic effect of cisplatin. Gara-visha prepared artificially by mixture of various nonpoisonous substances to produce various disease. Long exposure to chemotheurapeutic drugs produces toxicity which will be correlated with the concept of Garavisha in ayurveda. Hence chikitsa sutra of Gara-visha will be applied for the cumulative toxicity which is produce by chemotherapeutic drug cisplatin which is used during chemotherapy.
