COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF TAMAK SHWAS: INSIGHTS AND ANALYSIS

. Abstract Tamak Shwas is one among respiratory disorders where Kapha and Vata Doshas, Prana, Anna and Udakvaha Srotas are involved. Tamak Shwas is Vatakaphaj Vyadhi originating from pitta sthana[1] and manifested through Pranavaha Srotas. Vata gets obstructed by Kapha and travels in Pratiloma Gati and it causes Tamak Shwas. It is well known for its episodic and chronic course which comes under life threating disease which affects the human race. The present article offers a comprehensive review of Tamak Shwas, a term used in Ayurveda to describe chronic bronchial affliction. Through an extensive analysis of historical Ayurvedic texts, modern research and clinical observations, this review aims to provide valuable insights into the etiology, clinical prensentation, management and potential interventions for Tamak Shwas.
