PREPARATION OF MULTIENZYME BLEND USING DIFFERENT EXCIPIENTS AND EVALUATING STABILITY
Venkatesh, Abubakkar Siddiq*, Mohammed Swaleh, Nagendra, Irfan Sharieff, Hanumanthachar Joshi
. Abstract Enzymes can be described as simple proteins found within each living cell, where they act as ‗biological catalysts‘ to regulate various biological reactions, including digestion. Several digestive enzymes are involved in breaking down protein, carbohydrates and fats and other complex molecules present in food. Through this action, they facilitate the digestive process and thus help better nutrient absorption by the body. If digestive system is not functioning the way it is supposed to be. Several factors are known to influence digestive health, viz. poor lifestyle and eating habits, stress, age, genetics, food additives and chemicals and physical inactivity. This proprietary preparation is a unique blend of specific digestive enzymes that offers much more than just aiding proper digestion and better absorption of nutrients. Development of Multienzyme blend formulation containing Alpha amylase, Acid cellulase, Neutral protease, Lactase and Lipase formulated with two different excipients Maltodextrin and Microcrystalline cellulose and checking its stability at Accelerated conditions (40°C±2°C, 75%±5% RH). After the preparation, there are two formulations have been subjected to the further evaluation studies. Loss on drying and Enzyme assays were conducted. Based on the results no significant change observed during the studies till 2nd month. But fails withrespect to Alpha amylase and Lactase activity in the 3rd Month. From the above data it is clear that the product is stable for 2nd months at accelerated conditions. Both the enzymes were sensitive enzymes used in the formulations. Further overages need to be added to meetthe label claim based on further stability trials with long term stability to be initiated to checkthe stability at Real time at 25°C will be give us the exact stability data for future formulations. Keywords: Multi-enzyme blend, Alpha amylase, Acid cellulase, Neutral protease, Lactase & Lipase, Maltodextrin, Microcrystalline cellulose. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
