FABRICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF β-CYCLODEXTRIN POLYMERIC NANOSPONGES WITH ENHANCED SOLUBILITYFOR COMBINATION THERAPY
Arpitha G.* and Dr. Anu Kaushik
. Abstract Paracetamol, one of the widely used antipyretic and aceclofenac, oral NSAID’S, both are administered in combined form to treat pain in the chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Both the drugs are of different solubility profiles, are combined together to formulate as nanosponges. These nanosponges are prepared by using β-cyclodextrin as polymer and Dimethyl carbonate as crosslinker, polymer and crosslinker is taken in the ratio of 1:2. Four different formulations of nanosponges were prepared and particle size of all the nanosponges was found in the nano size range of 186 to 242nm, with zeta potential -18.26 to -36.78 and PDI ranges from 0.671 to 0.968. Nanosponges shown good entrapment efficiency of drug from 59.34 to 88.27%, percentage of drug in the nanosponges was 61.20 to 91.53%. Drug release study for nanosponges was 13.87 % to 94.56%. Keywords: Osteoarthritis, cyclooxygenase, centrifuged, sonicated. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
