IMPORTANCE OF PARICHARKA (NURSE) IN NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER

. Abstract Ayurveda is a science which imparts knowledge of life. Our acharyas have given description of paricharak (Nurse). Acharya Charaka gave a beautiful description of all four pada of chikitsa vaidya, paricharak, ausdh, rogi in khuddakchatuspada. He also explain about the characteristics of these four. He mentioned about the quality of the nursing staff that nurse must know how to care of the patient, he or she should be of pure mind and heart, should be clever, affectionate towards the patient. Sushruta also mentioned some more qualities of nurse. Nurse should be brave, strong physique, affectionate towards patient, complete devotion towards patient, not criticizing the vomiting and stool of patient nurse should follow the complete regimen of the doctors, devotion in protection of patient. Achraya vagbhatta also specify these qualities of nurse. According to modern science a nurse is a licensed health care professional practices independently or is supervised by a physician, surgeon or dentist and who is skilled in +promoting and maintaining health. Nurses perform every action concerned with the well being of patient. Patients struggling with a neurological disorder behave unpredictably. Nurses are strong, patient and compassionate communicaters in order to help patients with chronic or long – term disabilities learn how to live with and manage their situation.
