AYURVEDA REVIEW ON VAYOBHEDA WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS TO BALYAVASTHA

. Abstract Ayurveda having branches aimed at addressing different aspects of health and wellness. Ayurveda put special emphasis on Kaumara Tantra as Balachikitsa; that specifically focuses on the health of children. The classification of childhood age groups in Ayurveda is based on the developmental stage or specific duration of period in which particular features appeared predominantly at different stages of life. Balya Avastha covers the period from birth to upcoming few years; children at this stage are vulnerable to many disorders therefore specific precautionary measures are prerequisite. The later stage Kumara Avastha is associated with main stage of growth and development therefore special nutritional requirements are suggested during this period. Understanding of children at different stages is very important for effective treatment of pediatric disorders.
