THE EFFICACY OF AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF PAKSHAGHAT W.S.R. HEMIPLAGIA – A CONCEPTUAL STUDY

. Abstract Ayurveda is science of life in which the first and foremost aim is to preserve the health and prolong the life, after that secondly to treatment of diseased. Paralysis is the condition of one or more muscle groups being completely unable to function. Due to paralysis, the sensory power of the affected area may be lost or it may become impossible to walk or rotate that part and also motor symptoms such as power nutrition, coordination and involuntary functions were affected. If the weakness is partial then it is called partial paralysis. Pakshaghata is one of among the Vatavyadi, considered under ashta mahagada diseases, which is swabhavatah duschikitsya. When the greatly aggravated vata invades the urdhwa, adhah and thiryakgata dhamanis, then it destroys any one half of the body which is called as pakshaghata. By this, affected side of the body becomes incapable of any work. Here is the present study an effort for better understanding Pakshaghata which can be corelated with hemiplegia.
