Akshada V. Badgujar* and Poonam P. Patil
. Abstract Aim and Objective: To Formulate, Develop, and Evaluate Herbal Face Serum by Using Herbal Materials. To perform the various evaluation parameters of serum, such as physical evaluation, homogeneity, pH, rheological parameters, spreadability, ash value, globule size determination, redispersion test, stability studies, and microbial examination of the product. Materials and Methods: Face serum is a highly concentrated cosmetic product prepared by the biphasic emulsion (o/w) method, which includes olive oil, shatavari oil, manjistha oil, glycerin, carbopol, etc. Shatavari oil is used to treat various skin ailments like sunburn, wrinkles, anti- aging, antioxidants, improve skin tone, and brighten the complexion. Manjistha oil is used to inhibit acne-causing bacteria and is excellent for skin brightening and treating skin diseases. Results: Herbal face serum was tested for its physical appearance, pH, spreadability, viscosity, and redispersion test formulation was found to be good. Its globule size enhances the penetration power of the formulation. Microbial Examination shows formulation was free from microbes as they do not show zone of inhibition. The results of the stability study showed that there was no change in visual activity and homogeneity. Conclusion: This study successfully developed and evaluated that Batch S-3 was an effective, stable, spreadable herbal face serum with potential skin benefits. Keywords: Herbal Serum, Complexions, Shatavari Oil, Manjishtha Oil. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
