PHARMACOLOGICAL REVIEW OF ACACIA LEUCOPHLOEA (ROXB.) WILLD

. Abstract Acacia leucophloea (Roxb.) Willd. is a herb with great medicinal promise in Indian medicine. The plant's bark is used as an astringent, to reduce burning, to treat bronchitis, to treat vomiting, to reduce inflammation, and to quench thirst. The bark contains expectorant, blood-purifying, antihelmentic, and antibacterial qualities. Using the yeast-induced pyrexia paradigm, bark extract showed significant antipyretic activity. Snakebite, diabetes, diarrhea, dry cough, ulcer, bleeding gums, mouth ulcer, fever, and skin conditions like leprosy are also treated with it. Menstrual problems and contraception are treated with a decoction of gum and bark. The shrub's inner bark is used to produce colors and tannins. It has antibacterial and antioxidant qualities as well. According to the pharmacological review, the acacia leucophloea plant has anti-oxidant, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antifungal, antiplatelet, Spasmolytic and Bronchodilator activity and larvicidal properties.
