AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF ARDHAVABHEDAKA (CHRONIC MIGRAINE) – A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Ardhavabhedaka is one among 11 Shiroroga mentioned by Acharya Sushruta.[1] Shiras is one among the Shadangas and is considered as Uttamanga and seat for Prana and Indriyas.[2] This article presents a case study of 37 year old female patient with chronic migraine for 10 years. She visited OPD of Shalakya Tantra GAMC Bengaluru with symptoms of half sided headache, nausea, vomiting, photophobia. It can be correlated to Migraine based on the similarities in etiology, pathophysiology and symptoms. Treatments such as Nasya, Shirodhara and internal medication with regular follow-ups were scheduled to monitor the disease progression. There was significant improvement in symptoms.
