. Abstract Adhatoda vasica, is known for its potent antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, and bronchodilatory properties. It has been traditionally used in managing respiratory symptoms, particularly those associated with pneumonia, due to its ability to relieve congestion and ease breathing. In recent studies, vasicine, vasicinone has shown promise in enhancing mucociliary clearance and reducing microbial load in the respiratory tract. This study explores the formulation of a medicated ointment incorporating herbal oils aimed at providing symptomatic relief from respiratory tract infections, especially pneumonia. The ointment is developed using standard pharmaceutical bases and is evaluated for key parameters such as spread ability, viscosity, pH, stability, and antimicrobial efficacy. The findings support the potential of vasicinone-based ointments as an effective adjunctive therapy in managing RTIs, providing a natural alternative to conventional chemical-based treatments. Keywords: Respiratory tract infections; vasicinone, nasal formulations, Adhatoda vasica, pneumonia. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
