Abstract

Literature study of benzothiazole derivatives gives an idea about the synthesis and development of benzothiazole derivatives which shows various pharmacological activities like anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, analgesic, antibiotic, antagonistic, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer. So, in future it becomes attractive target of extensive research due to its inherent diverse activities. The research development of benzothiazole derivatives have gained significant interest in recent years due to their diverse range of pharmacological activities. The benzothiazole derivatives were synthesized from different methods and it was observed that most of the substitution on benzothiazole takes at the position 2 and 5, by the heterocyclic and aromatic amines. Benzothiazole-based compounds have been found to be effective in the treatment of various diseases including cancer, microbial infections and inflammatory diseases. The synthesis of benzothiazole derivatives has been an active area of research, and several synthetic methods have been developed to access these compounds. The development of new synthetic approaches and the modification of existing methods have allowed for the creation of novel scaffolds with improved biological properties and specificity.

Keywords: Benzothiazole, synthesis, characterization, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antagonistic activity.
