INTEGRATIVE ONCOLOGY: ROLE OF AYURVEDA IN CANCER CARE

Abstract Cancer is a group of disorders characterized by the uncontrolled growth and division of malignant cells, which often form cancerous tumors. While various treatments are available for cancer, Ayurveda also plays a significant role. Ayurvedic medicine can contribute to cancer care by aiding in prevention, palliation, treatment, and overall support. It helps enhance the quality of life and can be used alongside chemotherapy or radiation therapy as an adjuvant or complementary therapy. Ayurvedic treatment may also help reduce the toxic side effects associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
