MANAGEMENT OF URETHRAL STRICTURE (MUTRAPRASEKA SANKOCHA) THROUGH UTTARABASTI AND ORAL AYURVEDIC MEDICINES: A CASE REPORT
*Dr. H. P. Sharma, *Dr. Aditya Nema, *Dr. Ravindra Kumar Patil
. Abstract Urethral stricture refers to the narrowing of the urethral passage, which hampers the free flow of urine. Modern management usually involves dilatation, urethrotomy, or urethroplasty, though outcomes often vary. Ayurveda relates this condition to Mutrapraseka Sankocha, and Uttarabasti is considered a highly effective therapy for such cases. This report highlights the treatment of a 42-year-old male with chronic urethral stricture who presented with complaints of painful urination, dribbling, and increased frequency. Conventional treatment had not provided sustained relief. Therefore, Ayurvedic management was initiated with Uttarabasti using Bala Ashwagandhadi Taila (20 ml for seven days) along with Gokshuradi Guggulu (500 mg twice daily) and Dashmool Kwatha (20 ml twice daily). Significant symptomatic relief was observed, demonstrating the effectiveness of this combined approach. Keywords: Urethral stricture, Mutrapraseka Sankocha, Uttarabasti, Gokshuradi Guggulu.
