. Abstract Kebuka (Costus speciosus (J. König) Sm.) is a perennial herb that holds an important place in traditional Indian systems of medicine. It is also widely recognized and used in various folk medicinal practices around the world. In Ayurveda, Kebuka is categorized under Shaka Varga (the group of vegetables), which forms a sub-group of Ahara Varga (the group of edible substances) as described in classical Ayurvedic texts.
