SIGNIFICANCE OF TRIDOSHA SIDDHANTA IN PATIENT EDUCATION AND LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT: AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE
*Dr. Leena Thakur, Dr. Rashmi Pradhan, Dr. Upasana Bhardwaj
Abstract Background: Ayurveda, recognized globally as the "Science of Life," operates on the foundational theory of Tridosha Siddhanta. While modern medicine often adopts a generalized approach to treatment, Ayurveda emphasizes bio-individuality known as Prakriti. As the global health paradigm shifts from curative to preventive care, there is a critical need to bridge the gap between ancient physiological wisdom and modern patient understanding. Objective: This article aims to examine the relevance of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) in modern health education and evaluate how integrating these principles into patient awareness campaigns can empower individuals. Methods: A conceptual review was conducted using classical Ayurvedic texts (Samhitas) and contemporary research journals to analyze the correlation between Tridosha knowledge and lifestyle management outcomes. Conclusion: The study suggests that educating patients about their specific doshic makeup is crucial for sustainable health management. Integrating Ayurvedic physiological principles into patient education empowers individuals to adopt personalized lifestyle changes (Dinacharya and Ritucharya), fostering self-reliance and better Swasthya (well-being). Standardization of these educational models is identified as the key step for global acceptance. Keywords: Tridosha, Prakriti, Patient Education, Lifestyle Management, Kriya Sharir, Preventive Medicine. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
