MOOTRAKRUCCHRA (UTI): A REVIEW FROM AYURVEDIC AND MODERN PERSPECTIVES
*Vd Nainika S Chordiya, Vd Channamma S Hiremath, Vd Nikita Jain
Abstract Mootrakrucchra is a pathological condition of the Mutravaha Srotas characterized by painful and difficult urination. Classical Ayurvedic texts describe this disorder in detail and classify it into multiple types based on Dosha predominance.[1-5] The disease primarily involves the Basti, one of the vital organs (Trimarma), emphasizing its clinical importance.[2] The symptomatology of Mootrakrucchra shows significant similarity with lower urinary tract infections (UTIs) described in modern medicine.[7,8] This review aims to correlate the Ayurvedic understanding of Mootrakrucchra with the contemporary concept of UTIs. Keywords: Mootrakrucchra, Urinary Tract Infection, Mutravaha Srotas, Basti. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
