EFFECT OF PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS ON SUSPENSION CULTURE OF ADHATODA VASICA NEES

Abstract Suspension culture is one of common technique use in plant tissue culture for production of secondary metabolites. In the present study the callus was established using adhatoda vasica cells and then used to prepare suspension culture. two auxin and one cytokine used to manipulate the media and the effect was studied in terms of cell growth. Secondary metabolite production was analyzed by HPLC and found immobilized cells were showing higher biosynthetic capacity for vasicine.
