EVALUATION OF ANTI-DIABETIC ACTIVITY OF WHOLE PLANT OF TRIUMFETTTA RUTONDIFOLIA LINN IN STREPTOZOTOCININDUCED DIABETIC RATS

Abstract

The anti-diabetic activity of methanolic extract of Triumfetta rotundifolia Linn;(Liliaceae) in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats was investigated in the present study. Streptozotocin was used to induce diabetes mellitus. The anti-diabetic potential was assessed by determining oral glucose tolerance, fasting blood glucose, urine glucose, liver glycogen content, serum lipid profile, change in body weight and histopathology studies.
