AN OVERVIEW: EMPHASIS ON NOVEL GRANULATION TECHNOLOGIES
Sayyed Sarfaraz Ali Riyasat Ali*, Dr. O. G. Bhusnure, R. S. Pentewar, S. B. Gholve, S. V. Gapat, V. K. Morkande, A. B. Duve
Abstract The most commonly preferred dosage forms are tablets, because of flexibility in formulation and design of dosage form, ease of administration & patient compliance. Different technique applied for processing the pharmaceutical tablet which include wet granulation dry granulation and direct compression. The ingredient individual characteristics is responsible for choice of the manufacturing technique of tablet, some of those are ability to flow, eject, compress etc. Thorough investigation of each and every ingredient in the formulation, their interaction and compatibility with other ingredient play a significant role in selection of required granulation technique. Research work is carried on to improve and replace novel approach as these technique have certain advantages such as reliable, high yielding and cost effective. The aim of current article is to focus on the novel granulation technique such as freeze granulation, Granurex® technology and pneumatic dry granulation. The purpose behind this study is to improve manufacturing technique and avoid any kind of waste due to number of reasons such as sticking, during handling etc. and to provide better yield and palatable drug. Keywords: Pneumatic dry granulation, melt granulation, nucleation, Granurex®. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
