FORMULATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CLINDAMYCIN PHOSPHATE EMULGEL

Abstract

AIMS: The aim of present study was to develop an emulgel formulation of clindamycin phosphate using Carbopol 934 or HPMC 2930 as a gelling agent. The influence of the type of gelling agent and the concentration of both the oil phase and emulsifying agent on the release of the drug and its microbial activity were investigate using 23 factorial design in addition, rheological properties were also evaluated.
