STUDIES ON DIETARY HABIT AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF A FAMILY AT CHANDAN NAGAR, HOOGHLY, WEST BENGAL: A SURVEY REPORT

Abstract

The present study was conducted to get an idea about the dietary habit and nutritional status of people of urban areas at Chandan Nagar in the District of Hooghly, West Bengal. Our study undertook one family, recorded, calculated and inferred the daily working habit of the members of the family in relation to the nutritional status of the same family independently. The family we studied belongs to middle class socio-economic status. We also recorded the height and weight of the family members and evaluated their Body Mass Index (BMI).Blood pressure of each family member was also recorded. The prime objective of our study was to investigate if there is any relationship between the basic physiological status and dietary habit of the family.
