EFFECTS OF AMINO-REAGENTS ON THE MORPHOLOGY OF NANO ZnOSharda Sundaram Sanjay*, Manvendra Kumar, Rupali Mishra and Avinash C.Pandey
Abstract ZnO nanocomposites have been synthesized by co-precipitation method and studied the role and effect of amino groups containing organic reagents such as ethylenediamine (en), triethylamine (tea) and octadecylamine (oda) etc. with different precipitating agents , on its morphology. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The organic layer can be chemisorb or physisorb onto surface atoms, preventing further growth of the nanoparticles during synthesis and avoiding aggregation. The ligands interact with the surface through amine functional groups via noncovalent and hydrogen bonding. They not only passivate the surface but also influence the solubility and stability of the nanocrystals. Keywords: [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
