ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DEEPAN DRAVYAS FROM BHAVPRAKASHA NIGHANTU ON THE BASIS OF RASADI PROPERTIES

Abstract

Mandagni is a cause for all diseases, mentioned in Ayurved, specially in diseases of digestive system. Therefore by screening of Deepan dravyas from Bhavprakasha Nighantu can give effective solution for the Treatment of Diseases caused by Agnimandhya. The literary screening concluded that there are about 100 dravya are recommended as Deepan (Agni vardhaka) dravya, about 31 dravya also having Pachana properties. The present paper is about to enlist Deepan dravyas mentioned in Bhavprakash Nighantu with their Rasapanchaka (Rasa, Guna, Veerya, Vipaka and Karmas) analysis, to assess their specific type Agnivardhaka property.
