INVITRO- ANTIDIABETIC, ACTIVITY OF ETHANOL EXTRACT OF GLOCHIDION ELLIPTICUM

Abstract The study was aimed at evaluating Antidiabetic activity were evaluated by In vitro amylase inhibitory activity and Glucose uptake in Yeast cells. It was proposed that inhibition of α-amylase and glucose uptake by yeast cell delay the degradation of carbohydrate, which would in turn cause a decrease in the absorption of glucose, as a result the reduction of post pranial blood glucose level elevation. In the present study the ethanol extract inhibit the enzymes namely α-amylase than the aqueous extract of Glochidion ellipticum effectively. Keywords: Glochidion ellipticum, Antidiabetic activity.
