Seyed Mohamad Hassan Adel, Masoud Seyedian, Mahmoud Ebrahimi Behbahani*
Abstract The aim of this study was to compare the serum concentration of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) between ST segment elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non ST segment elevated myocardial infarction (Non-STEMI) patients at early hours of MI and also its relationship with angiographic findings. This prospective study was conducted on 80 ACS patients attending Emergency Department at Imam Khomeini Hospital in 2015. Forty patients with STEMI and 40 patients with Non-STEMI were assessed regarding HGF at early hours of MI. Also 40 healthy individuals were assessed to estimate normal limits of HGF. After three months follow-up the clinical outcomes including readmission, death, stroke and revascularization were recorded. Angiographic finding was defined as the number of involved vessels. The mean HGF concentration in STEMI patients was P Keywords: Acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, biomarker, STEMI, Non-STEMI, hepatocyte growth factor.
