Abstract

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS FROM ANGELONIA GRANDIFLORAEXTRACT BY GCMS

Abstract

In this study the whole plant extract of Angelonia grandiflora were extracted by ethanol to explore the phytochemical constituents by GCMS analysis.The major phytochemical constituents is 4', 5-Dihydroxy- 7-methoxyflavanone and 5-Hydroxy-4', 7-dimethoxyflavanone. Carboxylic acid like tetradecanoic, hexadecanoic, octadecadienoic acid and its ester recorded in minimum percentage.Alchols, ketones, amines, saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon are obtained. All the major compounds from ethanolic extracts are biologically active molecules. Thus the identification of a good number of compounds from A.grandiflora in biological significance,these phytochemicals responsible for cure various diseases.
