CLINICAL EFFICACY OF BHALLATAKA VATI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF EKAKUSHTA

Abstract

Aclinical study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Bhallataka vati in the management of Ekakushta (Psoriasis) at OPD/IPD of S.V. Ayurvedic Hospital Tirupathi. Total number of 30 cases are enrolled for the study. The drug Bhallataka vati was given 175 mg twice in a day after the food for a period of one month. Follow up was carried out at the intervals of twice in a month. The effect of treatment was observed highly significant in relieving Matsyashakala (Scales), Auspitz sign, Mandala, Kandu, Bahalatva, Unnati, Disturbance in sleep. The study was planned to find out effect of Bhallataka vati on the Vata Kaphaja kushta. Maximum result was observed in dis appearance of Matsyashakala. On the basis of overall assessment of the drug Bhallataka vati has shown complete relief in 1 (3.33%), Marked improvement in 27(90%), No relief in 2(6.66%) cases.
