Abstract

A CLINICAL STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF GOKSHURADI VRUSHYA YOGA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KSHINA SHUKRA W.S.R. TO OLIGOZOOSPERMIA

Abstract

Oligozoospermia resembles Kshina Shukra in which sperm count is below 40 million/ml. Kshina Shukra (Oligozoospermia) is quantitative decline of Shukra. It is one of the Retodushti which is due to increased Vata and Pitta Dosha. Ayurveda fundamentals describe that the drugs with similar properties of any Dhatu nourishes that Dhatu. Vrishya drugs directly convert into Shukra Dhatu after their digestion & assimilation. So in current clinical trial, the drug Gokshuradi Vrushya Yoga was planned. It contains six herbal drugs with Snigdha Guna, Sheeta Virya and Madhura Vipaka as that of Shukra Dhatu. Clinical trial was carried out on 11 patients. Patients were diagnosed on the basis of symptoms of Kshina Shukra like Dourbalya, Bhrama, Panduta, Sadanam, Shrama, Mukhashosha, Sandhishoola, Shukra-avisarga and semen analysis. Improvement in signs and symptoms of Kshina Shukra with improvement in sexual health parameters and seminal parametres were assessed after completion of treatment. Remarkable results were observed in the form of improvement in all parameters of Kshina Shukra.
