Abstract

SYNTHESIS, SPECTRAL ANALYSIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL STUDIES OF SUBSTITUTED 4-THIAZOLIDINONE

Abstract

With the aim to synthesize the biologically active molecules, a variety of novel Substituted 4-thiazolidinones were synthesized via C condensation of Schiff bases and 2-mercaptopropionic acid. These newly synthesized compounds were characterized by physical, chemical and spectral analysis data (IR, 1H-NMR, Mass) and are further screened for their antimicrobial activity using different Antimicrobes. The compounds show good activity towards most of the fungal and bacterial strains.
