The plant Barringtonia acutangula is commonly called as Samundarphal or Indian oak belonging to the family Myrtaceae. The present study is will help in the evaluation of the drug using anatomical characters of the leaves like venation, stomata & transverse sectional studies. The venation is found to be Camptodromous festooned brochidodromous. & the stomata are brachyparatetracytic.
