BIOLOGICAL SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING PORTULACA QUADRIFIDA LEAF EXTRACT AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY
S. Devi Bala*, M. Francis Sathiyaseelan and N. Vasanth
Abstract Silver nanoparticles are widely used in the field of biomedicine. The nanoparticles are commercially an important product in manufacturing the nano based medicines. The nanoparticles synthesis is the latest technology. The Synthesized NPs were characterized using UVVisible Spectrophotometer with absorption peak at 450 nm. The FTIRFourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy with different wave number showed and determined by the functional group data analysis. The Scanning Electron Microscopy, Particle size analyser having the size of the particle at 49 nm, PL- Photoluminescence has emerged with spectrum of 644.48 and 402.13nm were also analysed in order to stabilize the nature of AgNPs. The anti-microbial activity consisting the anti-bacteria; and anti-fungal were done to evaluate the zone of inhibition with disc diffusion method. The important of this study is to evaluate how the nanoparticles are acted on the human pathogen. Green synthesis provides a idea to use plant material to be better method as it is cost effective, environment friendly, easily scaled up for large scale synthesis. Keywords: Silver Nanoparticles, Portulaca quadrifida, Characterization, Antibacterial activity, Antifungal activity. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
