A FACILE SYNTHESIS AND IN VITRO BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF A SERIES OF SUBSTITUTED BENZOFURANS AS ANTITUBERCULAR AGENTS

Abstract We have prepared a series of some benzofuran substituted chalcones (2a-d) and their heterocyclic analogs such as isoxazolines (3a-d), pyrimidines (4a-d), pyrazolines (5a-d), benzodiazepines (6a-d) and benzothiazepines (7a-d) respectively, have been synthesised via ultrasound-promoted irradiation (20 kHz) and characterized by using physical and spectral analytical data.
