TO EVALUATE THE COMBINED EFFECT OF ARJUN AND MANJISHTA LEPA ON VYANGA W.S.R MELASMA.

Abstract Vyanga is a type of Kshudra Roga, characterised by Niruja (painless), Shyava varna Mandalas (bluish black patches) occurring especially on the face. The clinical features correlate with Melasma, which is an acquired chronic Hyperpigmentation disorder, usually seen in women of childbearing age. AIM: To evaluate the combined effect of Arjun and Manjishta lepa on Vyanga w.s.r Melasma. Objectives: 1) To evaluate the effect of Arjun and Manjishta churna Lepa on Vyanga. 2) To find out alternative treatment for Vyanga. Materials and Methods: The study was randomly selected clinical trial in which total 15 patients of Vyanga belonging to the age group of 20-50 years were enrolled. Paste for external application was prepared by mixing the fine powders of Arjun and Manjishta (in equal quantity) with lukewarm water and advised to apply lepa daily Upto Semidry condition for 30 days on affected part.
