Abstract

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF ANTHELMINTIC ACTIVITY OF ALTERNANTHERA PUNGENS

Abstract

The current study aimed to investigate the in vitro anthelmintic activity of Alternanthera pungens. Various concentrations of methanolic extract was evaluated(50,100mg/ml). Albendazole drug was used as a standard drug. Albendazole causes death of the parasite. At higher concentration the plant showed significant effect on Indian earthworm Pheretima posthuma.
