IN-VITRO ANTIOXIDANT EFFICACY AND HPTLC ASSAY OF ALCOHOLIC EXTRACT OF INCI THENURAL

Abstract Inci Thenural is a combination of two herbal ingredients honey and ginger used in the treatment of kapha humour. The present study is focused on the in-vitro antioxidant assay where the hydroalcoholic extract of Inci Thenural was examined for DPPH and superoxide radical scavenging activity, pro-oxidant effect and total antioxidant capacity. The results revealed significant antioxidant activity when compared with standard. Further the HPTLC fingerprinting profile of the extract was established which can used as a diagnostic tool for quality evaluation and standardization of the drug.
