TRANSMISSION OF ZIKA VIRUS FROM INFECTED MOTHER TO FETUS

Abstract Zika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito borne flavivirus that has become threatens to public health infecting both adults’ and new-borns. It was characterized by maculopapular rash, fever, non-purulent conjunctivitis and arthralgia. In infants and children, this virus also causes malformation along with microcephaly which can be diagnosed through ultrasound.
