AN UPDATED REVIEW ON A SECRET WONDER SPECIES - HIPPOPHAE RHAMNOIDES

Abstract Hippophae rhamnoides (H. rhamnoides) which is also known as Sea buckthorn (SBT) is reveled as a wonder plant species of Himalayan region. Due to less literature available it is hard to explore the drug with its beneficial effects. As the fruit part and seed of this plant were found very much potent in providing various therapeutic benefits as well as source of various chemicals and new entities present in it. This review explores the habitat as well as its folkure and validated medicinal and therapeutic applications of Sea buck thorn in treatment of short term as well as long term sufferings.
