Most commonly used drugs are aspirin and acetaminophen. Inhibition of the cyclooxygenase results in the various actions such as analgesia, antipyresis, anti-inflammatory action, desmenorrhoea, anti platelet aggregatory action, ductus arteriosus closure, gastric mucosal damage, renal effect etc. Keywords: Cyclooxygenase, NSAIDS, prostaglandins.
