A SHORT BIOLOGICAL NOTE ONDASYCHIRA MENDOSA HÜBNER, 1823(LEPIDOPTERA: EREBIDAE) ON TWO DIFFERENT HOST PLANTS MANGIFERA INDICA LINNAEUS AND DALBERGIA SISSOO ROXBURGH

Abstract The biology of Dasychiramendosa(Hübner, 1823) was studied on two important host plants viz., Mangiferaindica(Linnaeus, 1753) and Dalbergiasissoo(Roxburgh, 1825) in the laboratory conditions and the life cycles were completed in 60.87 ±5.03 and 61.25 ±3.00 days respectively.Beingpolyphagous in natureit fed on both experimental host plants gregariously having a slight difference between the host plants as in case ofM. indicaL. with 50.37 ±6.02 days larval and 10.5 ±1.68days pupal period in comparison to 50.5 ±3.42 days larval and 10.75 ±0.70 days pupal periodon D. sissoo R.wereobserved.
