BALANOPOSTHITIS IN EQUINE AND ITS CLINICAL MANAGEMENT

Abstract The present study was conducted on a Pony (Equine) affected with balanoposthitis due to breeding injury. The animal was hyperthermic and was showing signs of pain by means of straining during urination. On clinical examination the prepuce and glan was found to be swollen, redden and warm to touch. Wound injury was noticed on the glan. The animal was treated with Antibiotics, NSAID and topical dressing. Healing was noticed from 3rd day onwards and complete recovery was achieved within 12 days.
