SYNTHESIS OF SOME NOVEL 1, 2-BIS(4-(5-METHYL-1HTETRAZOL- 1-YL) PHENYL)DIAZENES VIA OXIDATIVE DIMERIZATION

Abstract

The synthesis of 1,2-bis(4-(5-methyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl)phenyl)diazenes (2a-g) were achieved from the corresponding 5-methyl-1H-tetrazol-1- yl-benzenamines (1a-g) via oxidative dimerization by using t-BuOCl in the presence of sodium iodide in diethyl ether in good to excellent yields. The structures of the synthesized compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and melting point analysis
